About

Hi, I’m Cindy! Welcome to my blog.

A few years ago, I was stuck in a frustrating cycle. I was diagnosed with insulin-resistant PCOS, and despite doctors telling me I “just needed to lose weight,” no one offered any real guidance on how.

At 232 lbs (and just 5’1″), I was sick, tired, and miserable. My symptoms were out of control. I had hair loss, acne, facial hair, fatigue, irregular periods, fatty liver, and pre-diabetes. I knew I had to do something about my health before it was too late.

I was so unhappy with myself at this point.

I started with calorie counting and traditional “dieting,” but it was slow going. I could barely lose any weight. I felt like I was starving all the time, and I would ultimately binge on carbs and junk when I couldn’t white-knuckle my way through the hunger anymore.

I eventually started the keto diet after reading about its benefits for women with PCOS. I was able to lose some weight – finally! – without starving all the time. Unfortunately, I was still dealing with inflammation, acne, hair loss, and sugar cravings.

One day, out of pure desperation, I Googled something like “Can you eat just meat and cheese on the keto diet? Is that even safe?

That search led me to the carnivore diet. I started following Kelly Hogan, Dr. Ken Berry, and many other smaller YouTube creators who were having success with zero carbs. I had nothing left to lose, so I decided to give it a shot.

It changed my whole life. When I kept my carbohydrate intake down to as close to zero as possible, the weight just fell off. It felt like a miracle after I’d been struggling for so long. I finally found something that worked, and it wasn’t even difficult (after the initial adjustment period).

I was able to lose 100 lbs (from 232 down to 132) – the bulk of which I lost in less than a year!

The carnivore diet healed me. I felt better than ever and my PCOS symptoms were finally under control. My sugar cravings were gone, and I never felt hungry. My hair was growing back, my skin cleared up, my periods were regular, and my insulin stabilized. I was in the best health of my adult life.

However, about a year ago, I got into a new relationship (with someone who is NOT carnivore), and I fell off the wagon.

I started eating a cheat meal every once in a while, and pretty soon, I was eating the same old junk with reckless abandon. I let all those old bad habits that I worked so hard to break creep back into my life.

I got back up to 166 lbs, and my PCOS symptoms started creeping back again, too. I couldn’t let myself go back to that old place of sickness and misery.

In June 2025, I ran my first 5k race. I’m super proud of myself for this accomplishment! But when I saw the pictures of myself crossing the finish line, I was not happy with the way I looked. I knew I could do better.

Finishing the race at 151 lbs. This is the beginning of my carnivore journey (round 2).

It’s time to take charge of my health, and never let myself backslide again.

The day after the race, I recommitted to strict carnivore, and I’m documenting it all here and on my YouTube channel. I’ve accepted that I’ll probably need to eat this way for the rest of my life to maintain a healthy weight and control my PCOS.

On this blog, I’m sharing my weight loss journey, tips for sticking to the carnivore diet long-term, and advice for managing PCOS with a zero carb diet.

Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been carnivore for years, you’re welcome here. I created this space to share what I’ve learned, inspire others, and build a community where we can all thrive together.
